Hi, im just returning to the psp scene after a a long break, and upgraded my psp's custom firmware from 3.XXm33(dont quite remember exactly) to 5.00m33-6. After doing that my homebrew does not work. I also downloaded daedalusx64 to replace my non-working r13, but it does not work either. all of the old homebrew is either considered a corrupt file or wont load after selecting it (i get the 87... error). I really want my emulators to work again, but preferably all homebrew. If you know what settings are necessary, please tell me. after pulling out my psp and dusting it off, i figured upgrading would be nice, but it is now just a nightmare. I have all of the homebrew in the correct folder (GAME150 or GAME), or at least what they used to work in. Here are my settings:
My configuration settings are:
Hi everyone! Great news for all of you Ad Hoc fans out there –adhocParty for the PSP system, which first launched in Japan last year, is coming to North America! AdhocParty is an online service that allows PSP owners with a PS3 system to connect to one another via the PlayStation Network. It will be available as a free download on the PlayStation Store soon.

So, how does adhocParty work? PSP titles with adhoc mode traditionally require you to play within close proximity to each other. AdhocParty takes advantage of the interoperable capabilities of the PSP and PS3 systems. It enables you to play games featuring Ad Hoc mode, such as Gran Turismo and Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, over the Internet through the PS3. Your PSP connects to the PS3 via Wi-Fi, allowing you to chat online with fellow gamers in North America before jumping into competition from the comforts of each of your respective living rooms.

In addition to all of its competitive and social gaming features, adhocParty for PSP supports voice chat through the Wireless Headset or PlayStation Eye, offering you a complete and immersive gaming experience only available on the PlayStation platform.

He demonstrates 6.10 Typhoon CFW / HEN and running a homebrew emulator pico drive. And apparently this hack is at the Kernel level. Now as amazing as this all is Neon says its never going to be released…Never! I guess for fear that someone will work it to load ISO and then CFW? Still I wouldn’t mind fulling my PSP Go’s 16GB with a few decent emulators and games.

Also whats got thinking is this exploit part of FreePlay’s Save game exploit or something entirely different?

The latest addition to the PlayStation Portable family, the PSPgo, hit North American retailers in October with Japanese markets following this week. While reports of the domestic release have been varied and official sales statistics have yet to be released, news out of Japan this week further compound suspicions that the handheld is off to a slow start. According to PSPgo launch sales in Japan, retailers were only able to move 28,275 units, a relatively mediocre start for a country where Sony is king. Given the PSPgo's weak start in its native country, could Sony's rough start in Japan be the start of a less-than-optimal life cycle for their all-digital handheld? We'll have to wait and see, but if things do start to go south for the PSPgo, Sony may be able to save the system from the flames with a few strategic changes.

Cheaper Games

As a 100-percent digital platform, the PSPgo requires the exclusive useof the PlayStation Network's online store for software distribution. While there are plenty of alluring benefits of an all digital distribution service, there are also some inherent downsides, like that consumers have no physical ownership of the game media. If a user's purchases are lost on either their PSPgo or PC's MediaGo software, then it is gone forever. Moreover, the lack of physical media to store and keep track of, there is no competitive market for digital software since Sony has a total lockdown on the PlayStation Network. In other words, digital PSP software can only be found on the PSN, which means retailers like Gamestop and Best Buy aren't around to offer limited time deals. You also have to consider the fact that there is no capacity for resale, meaning, users cannot trade in digital downloads for store credit like they can at in-store retailers.

With the pricing locked in at either the same as or higher than in-store retailers and no way to trade the titles in later, there is little incentive for gamers to want to go the digital route. Digital games on the PSN would be much more appealing if they had a price differential over hardcopy games, even a marginal one. If Sony were to knock off 5 or 10-percent off the MSRP of digitally distributed game stop compensate for the lack of physical product in the user's hand, gamers would likely warm up to the idea a lot quicker. Apple achieved incredible success with the iTunes store when they rolled out their$9.99 album pricing while the rest of the music industry was hovering at $14.99 or more for CDs, Sony could do the same for games and move alot more PSPgo units in the process.

Cheaper Hardware

We can get why Sony keeps the pricing of the games on-par with hardcopy retailers, but taking away backward compatibility and trade-incapacity while jacking the MSRP up of the platform by $50? That's just crazy. In most cases, consumers are willing to pay more in order to get more, but with the PSPgo, the prevailing opinion is that users are paying extra only to lose functionality. Sure, the PSPgo packs some new tech that boosts production costs – Bluetooth, 16GB flash drive, etc. –but neither really provide enough marketable benefit to players to merit charging more than the PSP-3000. The extra $50 may not seem like a lot to most, but it is enough to dissuade consumers who are already pinching pennies due to the state of the economy. If you also consider the perspective of parents shopping for their children, a large chunk of the consumer market, the appeal of $249.99 system as opposed to the$199.99 PSP-3000 or $169.99 Nintendo DSi, is hard to justify.

The market impact of the extra $50 on the MSRP has been recognized by many electronics retailers, and when the system launched in October, many went ahead and cut the price of the PSPgo down to $199.99 anyway. To combat the sticker shock, Sony would be wise to follow suit.

Create a UMD Credit System

As one of the biggest problems the PSPgo faces, the simplest way to raise consumer interest in the handheld would be devise a way for them to either trade-in or get PSN credit for their UMDs. Sony announced that they were exploring plans to allow users to transfer their UMD titles directly to their PSPgo without having to repurchase them on thePSN, however, just before the system released announced that the plans were scrapped due to legal complications. While the issues of offering a UMD transfer solution are fairly clear – proving ownership of the UMD, piracy, etc. – it seems like a mail-in or in-store credit system would be a safe alternative.

If Sony were to offer users PSN credit for sending in their old UMDs,even a small percentage of the original value, the appeal of the system would greatly improve. If Sony were to take the concept a step further and partner with a retailer to allow users to do direct, in-store credit PSN credit systems, then that would make the process even easier. Certainly there are complications inherent to such a system, but without any form of credit or trade-in system, the PSPgo will continue to be hard sell for new and existing PSP owners.

Is it true custom code (NOT CFW) has been run on the PSP Go?

I'm an old user - left when I realised I'd got my OFW too far to get CFW.

Now, after researching the Go, I'm against it - not the system itself, but the way Sony have handled its game compatability with its shoddy PSN and failure to follow through with its promise of letting you turn your UMDs into Go-functional ISOs (my gripe is not with DD, just Sony).

Anyway, I won't get bogged down in that. As a system, though, I like the Go for 3 reasons:

- Its concept (badly-executed as it is)
- Size
- Bluetooth functionality (if hooked up to a TV, you can play it via PS3 controller)

Hence, if it could play everything my 2K could, I'd get one. However, as it stands, a CFWed PSP has a much greater library of games than a Go, with no UMDs required.

However, on GameFAQs, I read that someone had managed to run custom code, the first step in CFW development, to run on a Go.

It's a great thought, a CFWed Go would have the game library of an old CFWed PSP, plus its more compact size and the bluetooth possibilities.

However, I'm hesitant to believe this, as I doubt Sony would use any PSP mobo other than the V3 one used in later 2Ks and the 3K, which render it unhackable.

Can this be confirmed or denied?

According to Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida say the Playstation 3 is to blame for the slow trickle of titles for the PSP.

“A couple of years ago we clearly put too much focus on PS3 titles,” says Yoshida. “It caused a lack of support for the PSP last year. We need to be focused and gear a lot of our resources back to the PSP. We have many titles this year.”

With the PSP Go now offering over 16,000 downloadable extras and more games on the way, it seems clear that Sony has changed its focus.

Yoshida also explained that although Sony didn’t announce new titles at the Tokyo Game Show, it is preparing to announce new titles. We’ll keep our eyes peeled and get you all the details.

Sony's slow roll out of the PSPgo has been "by design" and the story is far from over for the digital handset, according to Gamestop exec Tony Bartel.

Following the release of figures from the console's Japanese launch over the weekend - it sold 28,000 units in its first day - Gamestop's exec VP of merchandising and marketing told IndustryGamers that Sony had never planned a big launch for PSPgo.

"I think that, by Sony's admission, you can tell by the small marketing that was done for this, that their mentality was more of a slow roll than a major launch. This was clearly different than the way that Nintendo approached the DSi, and I think that was by design.

"I think the story is far from over and being written on the PSPgo. I think Sony knew it was going to be more of a slow build as opposed to a right out of the gate huge release. I'm not sure that anyone that spent a lot of time working with Sony on the launch was really surprised by the way that it's gone so far."

Official figures from the US launch of the handheld are yet to be confirmed, but Sony has said it led to overall PSP sales growth of 300 per cent.

US sales of the PlayStation 3 are in far less dispute, with the console reaching the hardware sales top spot during the month of September.

Nearly 500,000 units were sold during the month, reports IndustryGamers, while in Japan the console's sales have grown by 707 per cent since its price was dropped.

And in Bartel's opinion, its success in the US won't be limited just to September.

"We continue to see the [price drop] giving strong momentum to the PS3," he said. "Obviously we had a strong surge when they initially dropped the price, and there was a lot of excitement around that, but we still see PS3 sales as very strong through October as well."
